Few fruits capture the essence of the Mediterranean like the humble fig. 🥄 Recipe: Mediterranean Fig Jam with Honey & Cinnamon
Ingredients (makes 3 half-pint jars (8 oz) or 6 mini jars (4 oz):

2 lbs fresh figs, washed and quartered

1 cup sugar (or ¾ cup if figs are very sweet)

¼ cup local honey

Juice of 1 lemon

1 tsp lemon zest

1 cinnamon stick (or 1 tsp ground cinnamon)

Optional: 2–3 cloves or a splash of vanilla
Instructions:

In a heavy-bottomed pot, combine figs, sugar, honey, lemon juice, and zest. Let sit for 30 minutes to release natural juices.

Place over medium heat. Add cinnamon stick. Stir gently as the figs begin to soften.

Simmer uncovered for 40–50 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the jam thickens. (You can mash the figs with a fork for a smoother texture or leave chunks for a rustic feel.)

Remove cinnamon stick and ladle the hot jam into sterilized jars. Seal and let cool.

Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks, or water-bath can for longer storage.
